NFL Live Stories debuted this past weekend (pictured below), during the opening weekend of games for the league, and the NFL and Snapchat said they have created a weekly programming schedule featuring all 32 NFL teams and running through Super Bowl 50.
The next installment in the partnership will go live Thursday night, prior to the Thursday Night Football tilt, in which the Denver Broncos will visit the Kansas City Chiefs. It will be available for 24 hours.
The league and the app first worth together on a Live Story from the 2015 NFL Draft, which was viewed by nearly 15 million users.
The NFL and Snapchat said each NFL Live Story will be curated by the app and “provide an experience that captures the energy and excitement from various NFL locations and events,” combining Snaps submitted by fans with official “inside-access” content. The two parties added that brands will be given opportunities to advertise during NFL Live Stories.
NFL director of digital media business development Blake Stuchin said in a release announcing the partnership:
Partnering with a popular platform such as Snapchat is another important step in our plan to reach our fans wherever they are, whether on NFL.com, NFL Network, NFL Mobile or outside of those properties. The weekly programming schedule will provide another touch point for millions of fans to connect and share around their passion for the NFL while creating a unique vehicle to reach that audience for our trusted partners and sponsors.
Snapchat head of partnerships Ben Schwerin added:
We’re thrilled to partner with the NFL on Live Stories. Our users will get an exciting look at what’s it’s like to be right in the middle of the action with the fans and players all season long.
