Spin the Agencies of Record

MWW will represent Paul Katami and Jeff Zarrillo, best known as the couple behind the suit that brought down Prop 8, California’s statewide ban on same-sex marriage.

It’s no coincidence that this announcement follows the acquisition of L.A.’s Macias Media Group and the creation of MWW’s LGBT specialty division.

Katami and Zarrillo hired the firm to support the launch of an upcoming HBO documentary based on their experience; The Case Against 8 will debut in select theaters this summer before airing on HBO on June 23, the first anniversary of the Supreme Court decision.

And yes, they were married by former mayor/current Edelman employee Antonio Villariagosa on June 28, 2013.

MWW also signed with emnos, a German firm specializing in data analytics for retail/consumer businesses; it will handle PR and B2B duties to raise awareness among potential client businesses.

W2O Group will serve as integrated marketing AOR for Appolo Endosurgery. Tasked with promoting company’s LAP-BAND System or “the only FDA approved device for weight reduction in lower body mass index (BMI) patients”, W2O will help launch a new creative campaign to raise awareness of the product during the first half of 2014.

Andy Millman will not be a brand spokesman.

FleishmanHillard will join with risk/cyber security solutions provider Kroll to launch what they’re calling a “data breach risk-mitigation service” for clients.

In short, Kroll will provide the data and FleishmanHillard will provide the strategy for clients fortunate enough to not be ahead of the digital data breach trend.
