Study: How Marketers Are Investing in Facebook

Digital marketing company Coremetrics released some interesting data from a company survey which examined the return on investment (ROI) of brand’s Facebook Fan pages.

One especially interesting tidbit that struck out to us: When asked, “What is your most important metric for Facebook?” 32 percent of respondents said “total Facebook fans.”

With new marketing techniques that allow brands to buy hundreds of thousands of fans in one day, one would think the “total fans” metric would not mean as much. “Total Facebook fans” narrowly beat out “total website visits influenced by Facebook” (28%) and “Web site sales or conversions influenced by Facebook” (30%).
