T-Mobile G2x Dual-core Android Phone: 8mpixel Camera, Dual-core, No NFC, No Gingerbread

New iPhone models only appear once a year. But, new Android phones appear, its seems, several times a month. The T-Mobile G2x was announced last month and BGR reports that it will be available to order next week on April 15 for $199.99 (no-contract price is $499.99).

The G2x has impressive hardware specifications:
– 1GHz Dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset
– 4-inch display
– 480×800 resolution display
– 8 megapixel camera
– 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera
– HSPA+ radio for T-Mobile’s “4G” wireless data network

Unfortunately, it is based on the older Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) instead of OS 2.3 (Gingerbread). And, it does not appear to support NFC (Near Field Communications).
