The Village Voice Names New Metro Columnist

The Village Voice has hired Harry Siegel as its new Metro Columnist. Siegel – who once worked for the folded New York Sun – has some pretty large shoes to fill, as he takes over the position vacated by Tom Robbins.

As The Cutline notes, hiring someone who seems to be a conservative is odd for the Voice, but Tony Ortega, the newspaper’s Editor-in-Chief, disagrees, explaining, “Harry just blew away everyone else who applied for the job.”

Siegel will write a weekly column for the paper and contribute posts for the Voice’s news blog.
