Think Irreverent When Pitching The Improper Bostonian

The regional lifestyle magazine with a playful touch.

Improper-Bostonian-ArtYes, The Improper Bostonian is a regional magazine that covers the dining, arts, fashion and sports scenes that are the domain of so many regional magazines.

Glance at the title, however, and you know while the coverage themes may be the same, The Improper Bostonian’s editorial style is not, taking on an “irreverent tone and playful approach.” Keep that style in mind as you pitch “Imperatives.”

The front-of-book “Imperatives” section is a great place for freelancers to break into the magazine. Articles run from 75 to 400 words, and editors are looking for local lifestyle stories with a timely hook to coincide with the issue’s run.
