What movies are you most looking forward to seeing this fall?  Contagion? The Muppets? How about Twilight: Breaking Dawn?  Social media research company Fizziology has put together a list of the top 10 most-buzzed about fall movies.  Check them out below and see whether your most anticipated fall flicks made the cut!

Fizziology ranked the top 10 most-buzzed about fall movies according to a number of criteria including the volume of social media chatter, positive sentiment and intent to actually see the films.  And now, without further ado, we bring you the most buzzed about movies of fall 2011!

Twilight: Breaking Dawn

It really comes as no surprise that Twilight: Breaking Dawn tops this list.  Similar to Harry Potter, the Twilight series has a huge number of die hard fans and followers out there and they’ve all been tweeting, Facebooking and otherwise buzzing about the first installment of Breaking Dawn.  They’re re-reading the books, re-watching the films and counting down the days, minutes and seconds until the film’s release.

Contagion has been the second most-buzzed about movie this fall.  A lot of the buzz surrounding the film is thanks to the fact that the premise really freaks people out—I mean, who wouldn’t be freaked out by the spread of a deadly disease?  The all-star cast and disgusting promo for the film that went viral earlier this month also didn’t hurt.

The Rum Diary

The Rum Diary clocks in at number three because…well…who doesn’t love Johnny Depp?  Fizziology points out, however, that “there’s negativity coming from fans of the book who are frustrated that the trailer doesn’t seem to ring true…[but] stronger negatives are typical for sequels and book adaptations, though, so this isn’t too alarming.”  Have you read the book?  Do you agree that the trailer doesn’t do the book any justice?

Paranormal Activity 3

Social media was the driving force that brought millions to the box office to see the original Paranormal Activity, so it’s no surprise that Paranormal Activity 3 is continuing in the tradition of creating a huge buzz in social media.  This horror flick clocks in as the fourth most-buzzed about film of fall 2011.

Drive is garnering a lot of buzz in social media.  Fizziology thinks it may have something to do with the fact that it’s got something for everyone—women love Ryan Gosling and men love cars.  What more could you ask for?

The Ides Of March

Ryan Gosling fans are also buzzing about The Ides Of March, and it doesn’t hurt that this film also stars George Clooney and Philip Seymour Hoffman.  Beware the Ides of March!

Hot men (aka Johnny Depp, Ryan Gosling, George Clooney) seem to be a driving factor in the buzz surrounding films this fall, so it’s no surprise that Moneyball with Brad Pitt has been sparking a lot of conversation.

Real Steel

While Real Steel is clocking in as the 7th most-buzzed about fall movie, Fizziology points out that a lot of the buzz is actually negative.  A lot of people are criticizing the film as being lamely similar to the Rock em Sock em board game.  What do you think?  Will you be seeing Real Steel?

The Muppets

The Muppets have been building a buzz throughout the summer and into the fall for their new movie, thanks to some awesome parody movie trailers that they launched over the summer.  Check out our favorite, ‘Green With Envy’, below.

50/50 has been drawing a lot of both positive and negative chatter.  People are excited to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogan together, but it’s a comedy about cancer, which is bound to draw some controversy.
