TweetDeck Raises $3M, Releases New Desktop Client

It’s been an eventful week across the pond at TweetDeck, as the London-based social-media client raised $3 million in an internal funding round and released TweetDeck for Desktop v0.34.

The series-B funding round was led by Betaworks and included angel investors Ron Conway of SV Angel and Index Ventures‘ Howard Lindzon and Danny Rimer, Betaworks co-founder John Borthwick told GigaOM.

As for TweetDeck for Desktop v0.34, the new desktop client adds integration with Google Buzz and foursquare, the ability to schedule updates, compatibility with Twitter-compatible APIs (such as Tumblr, WordPress, and StatusNet), TwitVid video uploading, and the option of implementing multiple filters.
