Tweeting Back Rips Head Coach

Yet another athlete is in trouble over Twitter, as Larry Johnson, a running back for the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs, tweeted some shots at head coach Todd Haley following the team’s 37-7 home loss to the division rival San Diego Chargers, ESPN.com reported.

Among Johnson’s offending tweets:

My father got more creditentials than most of these pro coaches.

My father played for the coach from “rememeber the titans”. Our coach played golf. My father played for redskins briefley. Our coach. Nuthn.

Make me regret it. Lmao. U don’t stop my checks. Lmao. So ‘tweet’ away.

The Kansas City Star reported that the Toonicon Twitter account, which has since been taken private, belongs to Johnson and contains a link to the running back’s personal Website.

Peter Schaffer, Johnson’s agent, told ESPN.com:

I talked to Larry about it and he was focusing more on pumping up his father than anything else. He wasn’t trying to downgrade anyone…yes, everyone is frustrated after a loss like this but I wouldn’t put too much into it.
