Twitter: Here’s How to Turn On Account-Specific Notifications

Follow our guide to receive notifications from specific accounts you follow

Did you know the Twitter mobile application allows you to turn on notifications for specific accounts, so that you’ll be notified when they post new content? Our guide will show how this is done.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the Twitter app on iOS.

Step 1: Go to the profile of the user you wish to set up notifications for. There are multiple ways to do this. For instance, you can tap the user’s profile picture in your timeline, or you can search for them directly.

Step 2: Tap the bell icon. Note: You need to be following the account for the bell to be present.

Step 3: Tap either “All Tweets” or “Only Tweets with live video” to turn on notifications for the account. By tapping “All Tweets,” you’ll be notified about all new tweets from that account. By tapping “Only Tweets with live video,” you’ll only receive a notification when the account shares a tweet containing a live video.

Note: If you ever wish to turn off notifications for an account later on, return to their profile and tap the bell icon. Tap “None” on the menu that appears.
