Twitter Is Serving Up The Wimbledon Channel Livestreams for the Third Straight Year

The tennis tournament runs through July 15

The Wimbledon Championships tennis tournament is in full swing and set to run through July 15 and, for the third consecutive year, the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club is livestreaming digital news channel The Wimbledon Channel via Twitter.

The AELTC’s broadcast partners back The Wimbledon Channel, which is livestreamed from the grounds at Wimbledon from 9 a.m. BST until play ends for the day, featuring news, interviews, behind-the-scenes looks and select action from matches.

The Wimbledon Channel is available globally—with the exception of Austria, Germany, Italy and Spain—to logged-in and logged-out Twitter users via @Wimbledon and, and the livestreams feature a real-time curated timeline of related tweets.

Twitter also introduced new hashtag-triggered emojis for Wimbledon this year, which can be added to tweets by including the hashtags #Wimbledon, #TakeOnHistory and #TheQueue. David Cohen is editor of Adweek's Social Pro Daily.
