Twitter Launches ‘Moments’ With News Orgs

A simpler, more newsy Twitter.

Screen Shot 2015-10-06 at 10.44.22 AMTwitter’s latest attempt to keep its news-centric users informed is here. Moments is a new tab that features a collection of tweets, videos and more, focused on a single subject.

Moments are curated by Twitter and by approved news and media organizations. Initial Moments partners include Entertainment Weekly, Nature, Fox News, Getty Images, Mashable, MLB, NASA, The New York Times, Vogue and the Washington Post.

The Moments are updated constantly, and for those that are changing rapidly—like a MLB game—there is an option for users to “follow” the Moment.

For media orgs, Moments gives them an additional opportunity to interact with users and expose them to instant content. For users, Moments means a simpler, even newsier, Twitter. It’s a win-win.
