Twitter will livestream National Women’s Hockey League action during the 2017-18 season following an agreement between the league and the social network.

The Twitter NWHL Game of the Week will include 16 games featuring the league’s four teams—the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale and New York Riveters.

The pact also includes the 2018 NWHL All-Star Game and two games from the NWHL/Team Russia Summit Series with the Russian Women’s National Team.

The games will be available globally, to logged-in and logged-out Twitter users, at or @NWHL, and the league and the social network said a schedule is expected to be announced in September.

The Twitter livestreams will also include TV-style ad spots.

Twitter chief operating officer Anthony Noto said in a release announcing the deal:

We are thrilled to feature more live professional women’s sports on Twitter by collaborating with the NWHL. NWHL is another example of underserved content we know our audience is passionate about. Now fans around the world will be able to view live the fast-paced, exciting action on the ice on the same platform where the conversation about hockey is happening.

NWHL commissioner Dani Rylan added:

With this partnership, Twitter will expand the NWHL audience and give these professional women’s hockey players the major platform they deserve. This is a big and important step forward for our league as we approach our third season. I want to thank Twitter for its dedication to women’s sports.
