Viant Technology’s Jeff Collins Will Oversee Ad Sales for Fox News

Fox Corp. ad sales chief Marianne Gambelli fills her former position

Marianne Gambelli, who used to oversee ad sales for Fox News and Fox Business Network before being named ad sales chief of Fox Corp. last October, has found someone to fill her old position.

Viant Technology chief revenue officer Jeff Collins has been named evp of advertising sales for Fox News, Gambelli said today. He’ll oversee ad sales—including this year’s upfront talks—for all of Fox News Media, which includes Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network and Fox News Digital.

“Jeff’s proven track record in identifying new revenue streams and implementing strategic partnerships will add depth and innovation to our sales team. We look forward to welcoming him to Fox News as we further expand our business beyond traditional platforms,” said Gambelli in a statement.

Gambelli made the announcement after heading up her first Fox Corp. upfront event last week. She recently spoke with Adweek about her upfront strategy for the newly spunoff company, which includes the 21st Century Fox assets that Disney did not acquire in March.

The appointment of Collins shores up another area of her Fox Corp. ad sales structure. In January, she named Seth Winter to oversee ad sales for Fox Sports.

As CRO of Viant Technology, he handled all revenue for the company and its subsidiaries like Xumo and Myspace. Collins, who joined that company in 2014, oversaw the company’s ad-tech expansion, including the 2017 purchase of mobile ad tech company Aldelphic.

Prior to that, he worked at Turner for 18 years, most recently as svp of sales and marketing, overseeing east coast sales for CNN’s brands.
