VidMob Launches Video Editing Marketplace App on iOS

The app allows users to hire editors to create professionally edited video projects from their own photos and video clips.

VidMob has announced the official release of its app on iOS, which allows users to hire editors to create professionally edited videos from their own photos and video clips.

The app allows users to upload content from their device’s camera roll, or import content from Dropbox or Facebook. Users can also invite their friends and family to contribute photos and video clips to their projects via social media, email or text.

Once they’ve uploaded the content for a project, users enter any notes the editor needs to know. Users can then browse bids from different editors, and can view their customer reviews and samples of their work.

Once users have selected an editor, they can chat in real-time, and will receive a notification when their project draft is ready. When users are satisfied with the final product, they accept the work and the project is complete. Users can pay for their projects with a credit card they store within the app, or by using Apple Pay.

Outside of creating their own projects, VidMob’s ‘MobFeed’ allows users to view and rate finished projects from multiple editors, and follow the editors of their favorite videos.

In a statement, VidMob founder and CEO, Alex Collmer, commented:

VidMob was born from personal pain. Like so many people I know, I had enormous quantities of little video clips and photos scattered between my Camera Roll and my cloud accounts, and no real way to turn them into quality content. And I knew that tens of millions of businesses were also experiencing the same problem—how to take that raw media and affordably create the daily video content that their Facebook and Twitter channels now demand. The team at VidMob is trying to solve this problem.

VidMob is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store, and is coming soon to Android. Editors interested in joining the service can do so here.
