Village Voice, USA Today Among Winners of 2010 Association of Food Journalists Awards

The Association of Food Journalists today announced the winners of its annual awards competition, which honors “excellence in reporting and writing in all media, newspaper food section design and content, food illustration and food photography.”

The Village Voice was the only hometown newspaper winner. Its staff was one of three honorees in the “Best Newspaper Food Coverage — 150,001-250,000 Circulation” category. It may be worth mentioning, though, that USA Today‘s Elizabeth Weise, Blake Morrison, Peter Eisler and Anthony DeBarros garnered a “Best Special Food Project” award.
