Vogue Magazine Sashays Into the Political Endorsement Arena

A questionable move.

Do we really need to know which way Vogue magazine is leaning Nov. 8? The resounding answer on social media seems to be, “No!”

One strand in the stream of replies to Vogue’s tweet involves the photo of a much younger Hillary used by magazine. The picture was taken 23 years ago by Annie Leibovitz. @Women4Trump deadpan, ‘Who’s the woman in your photo?,’ while @stevewhitaker more seriously asks, ‘Explain the use of that picture.’ It’s definitely the Democratic cherry on the top of this endorsement sundae.

Clinton has been profiled by Vogue six times and appeared on the cover of the magazine for the first time in December 1998, framed by the cover line “The Extraordinary Hillary Clinton.” Read today’s endorsement, the first of a political nature by the fashion magazine, here.
