Did you know that WhatsApp allows you to change the wallpaper, or background, of your conversations? Our guide will show you how this is done.

Step 1: Tap “Settings” in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Step 2: Tap “Chats.”
Step 3: Tap “Chat Wallpaper.”
Step 4: Tap “Wallpaper Library” if you want to choose a patterned wallpaper from the app’s wallpaper library. Tap “Solid Colors” if you want to choose a background that’s a solid color. Tap “Photos” to use one of the photos on your device as your chat wallpaper.
Step 5: Tap one of the wallpapers, colors, or photos (depending on your choice in Step 4) to view a preview of how it will look as your chat wallpaper.
Step 6 (optional): If you tapped either “Wallpaper Library” or “Solid Colors,” you can swipe left and right on the screen to preview other options. If you chose one of your photos, you can use pinch to zoom and drag controls to customize the way the photo looks.
Step 7: When you find the wallpaper/photo you want to use, tap “Set” in the bottom-right corner of the screen to change your chat wallpaper.
