WhatsApp: Here’s How to Stop Photos and Videos From Saving to Your iOS Device

This option isn't available in the Android app

If you’re an iOS user, when one of your contacts sends you a photo or video in the WhatsApp application, it will automatically be saved to your device’s camera roll. However, did you know you can stop this from happening?

Our guide will show you how to stop photos and videos from automatically being saved to your camera roll on an iOS device. Note: If you’re an Android user and you want to stop photos and videos from automatically showing up in your phone gallery, visit this article on the WhatsApp website and follow the instructions listed there.

Step 1: Tap “Settings” in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Tap “Chats.”

Step 3: Tap the toggle next to “Save to Camera Roll” to stop the app from automatically saving the photos and videos you receive to your camera roll.
