Who’s Tagged? tests how well you recognize your friends on Facebook

While the act of viewing your friends’ Facebook pictures isn’t by itself a game, Who’s Tagged? on Facebook has turned it into one. Who’s Tagged? challenges players to identify unmarked pictures of their Facebook friends, with power-ups helping players get through tougher images.

In each round, Who’s Tagged? pulls a friend from a user’s profile and presents a single image. Players are asked to type the person’s name before time runs out, earning points for each person correctly identified.

There’s a filter in place for many kinds of irrelevant pictures, like Bitstrips and those posted in “tag-to-win” contests (among others), but a built-in “report image” feature also allows users to report images that haven’t been filtered correctly by the app (say, when a child is tagged with the name of the parent). The game’s developer has announced plans to refine this filtering even more in the future to remove inaccurate pictures from the pool.

If players can’t identify their friend during each round’s limited time, the game ends and they can start over with a new set of friends and pictures. Players can also spend Jokers to keep their streak alive and not lose their high score. Additional power-ups are available to make things easier, including the ability to show another picture of the same friend, see someone’s birthday, location, or even a letter hint for the friend’s name.

Players lose one life each time the game ends, but can purchase additional lives with real money. An in-game leaderboard tracks how many points each player has earned over time, and achievements reward free coins (for purchasing power-ups) and lives as players meet certain milestones.

Who’s Tagged? has over 10,000 players, and is available to play for free on Facebook. Check back soon to follow the game on AppData, our tracking service for mobile and social apps and developers.
