Yahoo Debuts ‘Motion Ads’ With Cheesy Kraft Promos

May catch the eyes of millennials

To a person, movie marketers who use Tumblr a lot love to talk about how ads need to become more like gifs (graphic interchange formats) in order to attract millennial eyeballs.

Well, Yahoo's Motion Ads, announced this morning as another option for marketers, seem to have been created in such a meme spirit. Now, brands can advertise with a little more rich media on the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company's homepage, category pages and login page.

Kraft is pushing its Singles cheese products as the launch partner today, paying an undisclosed cost-per-thousand rate. No other brands have been disclosed.

Though for today, if all goes according to plan for Kraft, the ads may have more Gen Y consumers thinking about grilled cheese than usual.
