If the name of production company Shady Media connotes a little playful edginess, that was the intent all along. Launched in New York a year ago by music/fashion video director Löic Maes and award-winning film producer Bill Robinson, the pair melded their talents and have churned out a series of high-profile projects. Maes collaborated with fashion photographer Nick Knight on Kanye West’s latest video Bound 2 (which debuted last month on Ellen), while Robinson has some reality TV pilots in the works: one on wild models called Pretty Young Things for E! and another about a pair of eccentric Latino cousins for The Weinstein Co.
