The YouTube Kids App Is Now Available via Select Smart TVs

In the slightly more than two years since its launch, the app has totaled more than 30 billion views

The YouTube Kids application is now available via select smart TVs from LG, Samsung and Sony in the 26 countries where it has already launched.

Product manager A.J. Crane made the announcement in a blog post, saying that in the slightly more than two years since its launch, the app has totaled more than 30 billion views and now tallies more than 8 million weekly active viewers.

Crane said YouTube Kids will be available on the following smart TVs:

  • All LG webOS TVs from 2015 through 2017, via the LG content store.
  • All Samsung smart TVs and Blu-Ray players from 2013 through 2017 with access to the Samsung App Store.
  • Sony TVs from 2016 through 2017, following a firmware update.

The 26 countries where YouTube Kids is currently available are:
