YouTube Launches Redesigned iOS App With Video Editing Tools

The YouTube app has received a new look, and now allows users to edit their videos before sharing them with the world.

Google has introduced Version 10.38 of its YouTube app on iOS devices, offering a redesigned interface and new editing tools for customizing videos before they’re uploaded.

The new YouTube app offers three main tabs for browsing content: Home, Subscriptions and Account. The Home feed provides lists of recommended videos, while the Subscriptions tab allows users to browse content from their subscriptions.

Finally, the Account tab offers access to the user’s own videos and video playlists, notifications, viewing history and more.

For better on-the-go video uploading, this new version of the YouTube app also offers new video editing tools, including the ability to trim a video, add filters or music. Users can choose from filters including Sepia and 8mm, among others, or a Sketch option which transforms a video into the appearance of a pencil sketch.

Meanwhile, the music feature allows users to add music from YouTube, or add music from their device. When choosing a song from YouTube’s library, users can select a song from the featured list of options, or browse by genre and mood. Song clips can be previewed before added to the video itself.

The YouTube app is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store.
