Back when "taping it" was a thing, recorded television shows and even rentals from the local video store all came out a little scratchy and green around the edges. To commemorate the 57th anniversary of the first commercial video cassette recorder, YouTube has announced a "VHS mode" for its video player.

To commemorate the 57th anniversary of the first commercial video cassette recorder, YouTube has announced a “VHS mode” for its video player.

It’s found on the bottom right corner of the video screen. (The last icon on the left.)

Not every video has it, but Daft Punk and Pharrell’s “Get Lucky” SNL Ad is one of the few videos that does.
