How Northstar Travel Media Launches Online Learning Programs for Advertisers

In the Publishing Executive webinar “Seizing the Online Learning Revenue Opportunity” Thought Industries CEO Barry Kelly explained how publishers can identify the online learning opportunity. He explained how publishers can analyze their existing audience and determine if an online learning solution is sustainable.

The next step to launch online learning is to map out what the product offering is and how it will grow over time. Some key considerations include hiring or training dedicated staff, investing in a technology solution, developing a workflow, and creating a sales process.

In the same webinar Roberta Muller, SVP of product development at B2B publisher Northstar Travel Media, outlined how her team created its online learning programs and gradually scaled that business into a major revenue source. “You need to make sure that when you start to plan out this area of your business that you look at all of the costs across the board,” said Muller. “Plan accordingly so that you can scale up and make sure your revenue is growing as you expand this business.”
