12 Social-Savvy Showrunners Worth Following on Twitter and Instagram This Fall

Headshot of Jason Lynch

As the new TV season kicks off this week and the broadcast premieres begin en masse, the networks are pulling out all the stops to lure audiences. For many shows, that means trying to establish a significant presence on social media. And while the series' stars will be tweeting up a storm, the best show-related accounts to follow on Twitter and Instagram are often those of the showrunners themselves—they have the best behind-the-scenes access, and, as they've proven on the series they oversee, they are exceptionally skilled at keeping audiences engaged.

As the livetweeting commences, here are the showrunners you should be following on Twitter and Instagram this fall. (Note: this list only includes producers with series airing this fall, which is why Hannibal's Bryan Fuller, perhaps the most masterful Twitter whiz among all showrunners, is absent.) Each of the 12 people on the list go beyond standard social-media promotion and have made their accounts essential to your social media diet.
