As Amazon ramps up the marketing campaign for Season 2 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, the streaming service is making sure that no one forgets about the comedy’s big Emmy sweep last month.
In the new trailer for Season 2, which will debut Dec. 5, Amazon is touting the show’s significant Emmy haul: the series won eight Emmys overall, including outstanding comedy series, lead actress (Rachel Brosnahan), supporting actress (Alex Borstein), directing and writing.
The new season, set a year after Brosnahan’s ’50s housewife has embarked on a stand-up comedy career, chronicles the character’s ups and downs in show business. “I wanna be big. The biggest thing out there,” she says.
Amazon has been going all-out to promote the show, which is its most critically acclaimed series since Transparent. In June, the company partnered with Hearst to create retro covers of four magazines—Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Redbook and Woman’s Day—all featuring Brosnahan, as part of the show’s Emmy campaign.
While Season 2 won’t air until December, Amazon renewed The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for a third season back in May.
