Ahead of next month’s upfront agency meetings, AMC Networks is creating a standalone data sales group, called AMCN Agility, to oversee its data offerings for clients.
The group—which will be run by Adam Gaynor, vp, advertising and data solutions sales at the network—will feature its Aurora Video Targeting Solutions platform for advanced audience segmenting and targeting, which AMC Networks first brought to market during last year’s upfront.
AMC Networks—which includes AMC, IFC, SundanceTV, WE tv and BBC America— said its data offerings will be a big priority during this year’s upfront. Over the past year, media companies and buyers have finally gotten serious about data and audience-targeted advertising, with those offerings expected to play an even bigger role in the 2018-19 upfront talks.
“The strong response to Aurora Video Targeting Solutions in the marketplace over the last year, and the expanded availability of this fully transparent planning tool in the 2018 upfront, convinced us that the time was right for a dedicated data sales team,” said Scott Collins, president of advertising sales for AMC Networks, in a statement.
“I am excited to be part of the AMCN family where the power of incredible story telling delivers distinctive and relevant audiences,” said Gaynor in his own statement. “AMCN Agility capitalizes on those audiences and offers intelligence, insights and the execution of data-driven campaigns that drive brands to be more efficient and effective at reaching precise audience segments.”
Gaynor, who was named vp of AMCN Agility, joined AMC Networks last May. Prior to that, he led media sales at Dish Network.
