BuzzFeed Is Creating an Interactive Game Show Based on an Israeli Hit

BuzzFeed Motion Pictures, which earns more than 5 billion video views monthly, and Keshet Studios, the LA branch of Keshet International, will bring an interactive game show to the digital culture.

Based on the Israeli game show Touch, BuzzFedd and Keshet will create a "next-generation, transmedia" version of the game, according to the companies. BuzzFeed has not announced yet where the show will air.

The original version of Touch attempts to answer the question: "What's wrong with this picture?" It connects with users in real time or offline by quickly identifying what is wrong, then touching the screen as the clock counts down.

BuzzFeed said it will lend its "brand, content and talent" to the project, combined with Keshet's intellectual property and technology.

"BuzzFeed has been at the forefront of creating culturally defining and buzzworthy original online content," said Sebastian Burkhardt, svp of digital and acquisitions of Keshet International, which is behind the popular Israeli series that inspired Showtime's Homeland. "Working jointly with such a prolific and extraordinary partner, I believe we are well positioned to develop a next-generation game show."

"We're thrilled to being working with Keshet to develop TOUCH into a cross-platform, global show," said Matthew Henick, head of development at BFMP. "Leveraging our audience-focused development process and our global promotional engine will make this a huge phenomenon."

Keshet will find international TV partners for the show, which doesn't yet have a launch date.
