Discovery to Launch 6-Part Series on U.S.-Mexico Border

The show will be hosted by Bill Weir

Border Live will start Dec. 5. Discovery

Discovery will spotlight law enforcement and other stories from the U.S.-Mexico border in a new six-part reality series called Border Live, which debuts Dec. 5.

“The U.S.-Mexico border has been the focus of our national dialogue over the last several years,” said Nancy Daniels, chief brand officer, Discovery & Factual, in a statement. “Our goal with this project is to shine a light on epic stories through immersive experiences, and we will turn that lens on one of the biggest and most important stories of our time.”

Each week, the show will broadcast live from its New York-based studio.

Border Live will be hosted by journalist Bill Weir, an anchor and special correspondent for CNN, and will include coverage from embedded reporters out in the field at sites such as Nogales, Ariz., and the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas.

Among those reporters will be longtime investigative journalist Lilia Luciano, a reporter at TEGNA’s ABC10 in Sacramento, Calif.
