News Corp. Makes Exec Move in Asia

As News Corp. seeks to expand its sprawling business interests across Asia, the media group has made a key appointment to its Hong Kong-based regional HQ.

Sarah Harden (pictured), currently svp of business development at Fox Networks Group, will relocate to Hong Kong in early May to become group director of partnerships and development for News Corp. Asia.

Harden will be responsible for managing existing joint ventures across Asia and exploring business development opportunities in the region.

News Corp. announced last year it would establish a regional headquarters in Hong Kong to manage its News Corp. Asia business. That office has since grown to more then 20 people.

News Corp.’s joint ventures in Asia include Phoenix (17.6 percent), ESPN Star Sports (50 percent), TataSky (20 percent) and Fox Star Studios (50 percent).

Other assets include its fast-growing pay-TV businesses Fox International Channels, Star and National Geographic as well as Dow Jones and The Wall Street Journal Asia, MySpace China and vast newspaper and magazine interests in Australia.
