Oxygen Rebranding and Bravo Boosts Scripted at Dual Upfront Presentation

Bravo has not one but two scripted series green-lit and ready to go this coming season, and Oxygen is going through a full-blown rebrand starting by the end of the year, with only reality series Preachers of L.A. on the list of returning series promoted at the event. That's not to say that others won't show up eventually—flagship show Bad Girls Club is slated to return in May—but Oxygen does appear to be starting from a relatively clean slate as it tries to shift into a more positive, upbeat mode. An Oxygen spokeswoman said that the network is "putting all existing series through the new programming filter for the rebrand," including BGC, before any renewals are made.

The network's big push is behind Fix My Choir, a combination fixer-upper/performance show with Deitrick Haddon from Preachers and Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child on board as choir fixers (Haddon and Williams performed at the event on Tuesday morning). There are six more series being prepared, including manicure design show Nail'd It, Street Art Throwdown, Sisterhood of Hip-Hop, stand-up comic reality show Funny Girls, romantic reenactment show My Crazy Love, and a show about unconventional lifestyles called Living Different.

Those two scripted shows on Bravo have been in the pipeline for a while: Odd Mom Out and Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce were both on development slates and much has been made of pilot orders (and, with GGD, series pickups) for both. But the full-blown series order of Odd Mom Out is new, as is the announcement of its star, Jill Kargman, who will play a fictionalized version of herself.

Among the other Bravo series green-lit by the head of both networks, Frances Berwick (and shepherded by new programming honcho Lara Spotts) are Top Chef Duels (with Wolfgang Puck as one of the judges), Best New Restaurant, hosted by Tom Colicchio, and several others, including a Real Housewives spinoff called Manzo'd With Children and a special, Real Housewives of Atlanta: Kandi's Wedding.

“This diversified new lineup, which includes two scripted series and our first ‘real-time’ docu-series, will satisfy fans and also bring in new affluent viewers," Berwick said.
