Are You Ready for Some Really Early Football?

It's a whole different ball game in the United Arab Emirates

Articles with headlines that refer to the start time of a major sporting event such as Super Bowl LI are a common currency of search-engine gaming. However, in the case of daily newspaper The National’s “Where to Watch the Super Bowl in Dubai and Abu Dhabi,” there’s a newsworthy extra twist.

The live-game telecast will start at 3:00 a.m. local time Monday morning. As a result, it’s not quite run-of-the-mill.

A tailgate party that kicks off at 10 p.m. Sunday night? Check. A first-quarter meal light on the chips and light on the dip? Double check, courtesy of Perry & Blackwelder’s Original Smokehouse at Dubai’s sprawling Madinat Jumeirah hotels complex:

The Kick Off Breakfast menu starts at 3.30 a.m. and includes pancakes, waffles, a breakfast burger and more. There’s even an American breakfast platter for just Dh85. There will also be an unlimited coffee option for Dh30.

Another Dubai joint, Claw BBQ, has an interesting option for those cool on the idea of Monday Morning Football. It’s repeating the Super Bowl telecast Monday night starting at 8 p.m., although by that time, who will have been able to avoid learning the final result?
