Migdalia Figueroa was promoted Monday (Oct. 5) to vp of content for the Telemundo Station Group in addition to her current role as vp of content for WSCV, NBC Universal’s owned-and-operated Telemundo station serving Miami.
In her new position, Figueroa (pictured) will oversee and coordinate the development of content across all of Telemundo’s stations, including news, Acceso Total (a daily entertainment program) and other specials and features. She will also be responsible for developing new programming and products that will leverage the talent and resources of the Telemundo Station Group.
Figueroa joined WSCV in Jan. 2005 as vp of news, rising to vp of content in Feb. 2006. During her time at the station, she developed the morning show Buenos Dias and the station’s first daily entertainment program, Acceso Total.
“We are thrilled to have someone with Migdalia’s experience, commitment and energy take on this added responsibility,” said Ronald Gordon, president of Telemundo Station Group, to whom she reports. “Her experience with the local station will be an asset to us as localism is a large part of our station’s strategy and locally rich and relevant content is a critical part of our success.”
