The Root of the Question

Note: Due to the early release of The Programming Insider, the overnight (metered market) results for Monday, April 19 were not available. But the fast affiliate numbers will be posted at PIFeedback by approximately 12 p.m. ET.

As for ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, robot Kate Gosselin needs to leave, no doubt. But my pick to bid adieu: bubbly Niecy Nash.

What’s Hot/What’s Not

-Record Doctor Who on BBC America:

Based on the live plus same day ratings, the season-premiere of Doctor Who on BBC America averaged 1.2 million viewers on Saturday, April 17 from 9-10:10 p.m. Comparably, that was BBC America’s most-watched telecast ever.

-National Ratings in Primetime – Week of April 12 to-Date:

To whet your appetite for the final national ratings for the week of April 12 tomorrow, here are the live plus same day results through Thursday, April 15. Keep in mind that this does not include The 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on CBS Sunday. Once the full seven days are factored in, expect CBS to be the most-watched network once again, with the home of American Idol, Fox, a solid No. 1 among adults 18-49.

Total Viewers:

Fox: 12.76 million, CBS: 10.59, ABC: 9.57, NBC: 5.59, CW: 1.94

Adults 18-49:

Fox: 4.4 rating/13 share, ABC and CBS: 2.7/ 8 each, NBC: 2.1/ 6, CW: 0.9/ 3
