Westwood One in Olympic Return

Westwood One will once again be the U.S. radio broadcaster for the Olympics. Through a partnership with U.S. Olympics rights holder NBC Universal, Westwood One said Monday (Oct. 5) that it would provide radio coverage of the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver February 12-29.

Around-the-clock coverage will include Olympic updates three times per hour, play-by-play for Live Team USA and Gold Medal Game ice hockey, a nightly Olympic wrap-up, as well as live coverage of other events such as figure skating, speed skating, and skiing.

“America loves the Olympics, and our exclusive radio coverage brings the excitement of the games to our sponsors and listeners alike,” said Gary Schonfeld, president of network radio for Westwood One.
Westwood has been the U.S. radio broadcaster for the Olympics since the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, Korea.
